Lessons of the Natural Art (photos)
Temporality
and change are the most important aspects of natural art. Art which shows a
bond between a person and nature reminds us of how important it is to enjoy the
moment, to feel its difference, to extend the boundaries of art, to develop our
ecological awareness, to critisise the culture of consumption. The creative
interpretations of the natural arts were created by students in the nature from
the materials found right then and there including: dried sticks, flowers,
leaves, stones and pebbles, sand and pine cones. Though these creations might
look beautiful, they are temporary. They are exhibited right where they were
created, in nature.
The central ornament. While learning about the shapes of nature, the students
gathered some natural materials which would suit their sketch and started to
make the central ornament. In the ornament they needed to interpret symmetry,
rhythm and blend of colours.
The butterfly. From gathered plants make a symmetrical butterfly.
Portrait. From gathered plants make a portrait. The face could be drawn and the
hair could be made from plants, create an interesting and original hairstyle.
While creating the art pieces the students understood the basic principles of
natural art and could try them out themselves. It’s essential to love our earth
and stay eco-friendly. Everything that is natural can’t be ugly.
